When women change the story, the world changes with them.
At this year’s Millennium Mams’ Annual Function – Mams of Bollywood, we celebrated the remarkable journey of women in cinema from the 1930s to 2025. From pioneering actresses to today’s pathbreaking leaders, women have gone far beyond dazzling performances to excel as directors, choreographers, writers, producers, and even in fields as diverse as defence and entrepreneurship.
It was more than a look back – it was a tribute to resilience, courage, and creativity. Women who once broke stereotypes have today reshaped the very identity of Indian cinema and inspired countless others to dream bigger.
The stage reflected this spirit with dazzling Mams and sizzling performances, honouring both legacy and progress. A lively audience of 550 guests and Mams cheered on, joined by Millennium Mams Global members from Mumbai, Siliguri, and Dhanbad.
The programme showcased 17 dancers and 10 singers, where the dancers performed to live singing, bringing to life iconic moments inspired by legends such as Devika Rani, Vyjayanthimala, Helen, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, and Anushka Sharma. Their electrifying performances had the audience clapping, swaying, and dancing in their seats.
As the saying goes, the journey is often more rewarding than the destination. The four-month-long practice sessions became a joyful journey of bonding, giggles, and new friendships for the Thursday batch – memories that will last a lifetime. Adding to the sparkle of the evening, Millennium Mam from Mumbai, Dolphy Jain, gave the event the perfect flavour as the Master of Ceremony.
The theme of the day, DISRUPTION, reminded us that the next wave of change is already here. Just as women in Bollywood redefined roles, AI is reshaping every field – from cinema to business, education to defence. This disruption is not a threat but a call to rethink, relearn, and reimagine the opportunities ahead.
The message by Rachana and Paridhi was powerful: empowerment is never complete – it is a continuous journey. From the silver screen to the boardroom, women are leading with confidence, creativity, and courage, proving that barriers are meant to be broken.
What makes the Annual Day even more special is that it is a total in-house effort of the Mams – from inception to participation and execution. This spirit of ownership and creativity is in itself a tribute to our mentors, Sir Bishnu Dhanuka and Sir Sanjay Bhuwania, whose vision and guidance continue to inspire the journey.
Looking ahead, the belief is clear: the best is yet to come.
Here’s to celebrating women, embracing change, and leading with purpose.
